Hadestown: Teen Edition

Eurydice finds herself stuck in Hadestown
Theatrical performance with three women in vintage-style clothing surrounding a person lying on the stage, with purple and orange lighting and fog effects.
Two actors performing on stage with mist. One actor in a white shirt and suspenders stands at the front, while another actor with long hair is in the background near a wooden structure and clock.

I worked on this production as LED Designer and Co-Lighting Designer. In partnership with a fellow student, we created the lighting scenes with an emphasis on the surreal and mythological aspects of the world of the Gods. The extensiveness of the set allowed for creative placement of LEDs to highlight character entrances (and exits) and transform the overworld of the humans into the underworld of Hadestown. Ultimately, LASA’s Hadestown: Teen Edition was nominated for 8 HAYA (Heller Awards for Young Artists) awards including Best Lighting Design.
